Darfur again
Apparently the conflict in Darfur had entered a time of resolution and pacification. But, according to several NGOs deployed in the area, the situation is even worse than four years ago. Many villages of the region have been bombed, thousands of people had to leave their homes not to speak about the abuses committed by soldiers on civilians, specially on women and children. So actually the same as in 2003.
It is quite interesting to see that these news are known in Europe just a few months before the olympic games in Beijing: the Chinese Government is responsible of these human rights violations because of its economic interests in the region and its refusal to condemn Sudan and to aprove a UN peace and stabilization force to the area. We should not forget this when we start receiving news about the olympic games. Actually I don't understand why the international community does not take measures against these Chinese games while seeing what is going on in Sudan.
Business is business. And Olympics, since many years ago, are also business.
